FBI Special Agents
Special Agents investigate organized crime, crime involving public corruption, financial crime, fraud against the government, bribery, civil rights violations, bank robbery, extortion, kidnapping, air piracy, terrorism, foreign counterintelligence, interstate criminal activity, fugitive and drug-trafficking matters, and other violations of federal law.
To become an FBI Special Agent you must have a 4-year college degree, be a United States citizen, be available for assignment anywhere at any time, be between the ages of 23 to 36 years of age and be in excellent physical condition.
It is also a general requirement that they have 3 years professional work experience.
Special Entry Programs
Special entry programs exist for those having 4 year degrees in computer science or accounting and also for attorneys, CPAs and linguists. All candidates must pass a thorough background investigation as well as a polygraph and drug urinalysis test.

 Requirements
Student opportunities are highly competitive. You are expected to meet the same employment standards as permanent employees. Applicants must be US citizens and should have a strong academic record (3.0 GPA or better). Foreign language skills, previous international residency and military experience are pluses.

Outstanding interpersonal skills, the ability to write clearly and accurately, and a strong interest in foreign affairs are necessary. As part of the hiring process, you must successfully complete medical and polygraph examinations as well as a background investigation.
Student positions offer salaries competitive with the private sector and the same benefits as permanent employees. Students in agency-sponsored programs are also eligible to apply for a one-time tuition assistance award for the last year of study if a job offer has been extended and a minimum GPA is maintained.
